Avoiding Sandpaper Cracking

Question: I’m trying to sand a curved surface and the grit on my sandpaper keeps cracking and breaking off. How can I avoid the problem?

Answer: You might want to pick up some cloth-backed sandpaper. This type of sandpaper works well for sharp bends and curved. Another alternative is to cover the back of your paper-backed sandpaper sheets with fiber-reinforced packing tape. The tape will help improve the flexibility of the sandpaper.
